Tony Barton
Tony Barton took up the cornett while an undergraduate at Exeter in 1972, and started playing there with a band called Musica Ficta. He moved to York in 1974, found some friends with other old instruments to play with, learned to play some of them himself, and The York Waits emerged in 1977.
He is now retired, but helps out with local events, recordings, and when he can be useful.
